Development Log

Week 1 -

In week one between ourselves we decided on roles with in the group and i was assigned the code work for the project which i don't mind doing and seem quite good at and i also am helping out with the creation of assets and texturing the assets i create.

 

I then did research which includes gathering inspiration for our monster and other things such as colour schemes and references to help with our design and look of the game. As well as this, we also used our knowledge of pop culture and books that we have previously read such as "The Magicians" which helped us with the idea of a hidden face.

Week 2 -

In week two we continued to plan and organise our work so that when we transition to making the game things will flow nicely and will it will cause less mistakes. This includes developing the narrative of the game and the SWOT analysis.

The next day we collected more secondary and primary research to further our understanding on anxiety and how to create horror in games. I also continued with the swat analysis to make sure everything is complete before doing anything else.

 

Week 3 -

In week 3 i finished my bit of the planning by completing the swot analysis and finishing the primary research so that we can get started on the main development of our game. Next i began watching tutorials on creating movement for a first person character and created a a basic prototype.
